Laid Farid (Zürich)

Farid Laid was born in Baden AG in 1974. He grew up and lived in the city of Zurich, where he also completed his training as an electrician.

Already in the analog age he got his first Kodak camera as a young boy. Captivated by photographic technology, he took his first pictures. On various world-wide journeys he learned also under partly difficult conditions the travel photography. First reportage picture series and portraits of foreign cultures drew him again and again in remote places.

With an uneasy feeling of leaving the film era behind, he continued to develop autodidactically in the digital visual language. His eye, however, still designs analog.

To this day, it is his life's work to reproduce nature and reality in pictures. .

Photography cannot be described. You have to feel and experience it. You're not just there, you're in the middle of it.
