Bernard Python

PHOTOGRAPHER 55 years old, with a Fribourg family name, Bernard Python spent his childhood in Bienne. After finishing school, he trained as a mechanical draughtsman before moving to France: "An avid diver, I decided to combine business with pleasure by enrolling in a hyperbaric engineering school in France. My project was to develop sealing elements for remote-controlled underwater devices, such as cameras. That's how I came to train as a photographer. When I came back to Switzerland six years later, I worked for companies that inspected dams (pumps, cameras), a job that required me to take a lot of photos". When he settled in Neuchâtel, Bernard Python produced photo reports and worksite follow-ups for companies and engineering firms, and also spent 18 years as official photographer for Xamax. In fact, photography had always been a part of his work, and he now wanted to highlight this way of communicating. To achieve this, he gave himself the means to do a professional job, and followed step-by-step training courses in graphic design and reportage. Today, 30 years of happiness in the service of photography.
