The history of Fotohaus Linke began in 1898, when Gustav Linke, the great-great-grandfather of today's managing director, took over the former "Riedl'sche Fotogeschäft" and made a name for himself with portrait photographs and landscape photographs distributed as "picture postcards". It was the time of the great change in the representation of one's own person, because while the media of painting, graphics and drawing that had been used until then were expensive and thus normally reserved for the nobility and the wealthy bourgeoisie, photography now also opened up the possibility for the "normal citizen" to "immortalize" himself for posterity.

However, while the founder Gustav and his successor Bernhard Linke only ran a photo studio and limited themselves to taking and selling pictures themselves, the foundation stone for "Foto-Linke" was laid in 1928 by Bernhard Linke, who took over the photo studio and additionally opened a store for photo supplies in Schlossgasse.

At the end of the 1950s, the company moved into its current business premises in Hauptstraße, which were completely remodeled and expanded in 1974 and divided into the three departments: Photo Atelier, Photo Equipment Trade and Laboratory Service with the latest technology from Fujicolor. The result for the customers, who are often positively surprised by their own "works", are pin sharp pictures of highest color quality with color gradations never known before.

This makes us one of the few local companies capable of realizing true full service.
